About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the home—supporting the day-to-day running, ensuring high standards of care, and stepping up in the absence of the Registered Manager. You’ll work closely with staff and young people to promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the overall operation of the home in line with Ofsted regulations.
Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to the care team.
Promote a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach to care.
Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and reports are accurate and up to date.
Lead shifts and manage rota planning to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Support with staff training, development, and reflective supervision.
Actively contribute to inspections, audits, and continuous service improvement.
Build strong, professional relationships with children, families, and external agencies.
Requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential).
Working towards or completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (desirable/required depending on experience).
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior support role within a children’s residential setting.
Knowledge and understanding of EBD, safeguarding, and relevant regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Full UK driving license.
