About the Role


As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, management, and operational oversight of the home. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality care that meets the emotional, social, and developmental needs of the children, and that all regulatory and safeguarding requirements are met.


Key Responsibilities

  • Register with Ofsted and take full responsibility for the running of the home.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled and compassionate team.

  • Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, with a goal of achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes.

  • Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment tailored to children with learning disabilities.

  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and person-centred approaches to support each child’s development.

  • Manage budgets, staffing rotas, and home resources effectively.

  • Foster strong relationships with families, local authorities, schools, and other professionals.

  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections and internal audits.

Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – essential)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential care setting

  • Experience working with children with Learning Disabilities and complex needs

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and person-centred care

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Full UK driving licence
